Driving Through The Green Trails

Great Himalayan National Park

The Great Himalayan National Park located in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, is known to host a wide variety of endangered species like the Himalayan Musk Deer and Snow Leopard; and is known to be home to over 209 varieties of bird species (both resident and migratory).

It was also awarded the UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 2014, in recognition of its outstanding significance for biodiversity conservation.

Mudumalai Tiger Reserve

The Mudumalai Tiger Reserve forms a part of the Nilgiris Biosphere Reserve and is located at the tri-junction of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Along with other sanctuaries that it shares its boundary with, they form a conservation landscape for elephant and tigers.

Located 240km from Bangalore, and about 68km from Udhagamandalam (Ooty), the reserve has tall grasses, a special variety of giant bamboo, species of timber and is home to wild animals such as panthers, mongeese, tigers and elephants among others. It is also home to over 260 species of birds as well.
